Design by Alfieri Gardone, a sculptor who taught at the Avignon School of Art and produced sculpted works, notably for architects and religious buildings.

The design features a serpent coiled around a stick or a flower.

The Lauterbach foundry was known for its advertising work, so this ashtray was likely created for a medical association.

It displays a variety of volumes and textures: granular and with a dark matte patina in some areas, smooth and polished to a golden hue in others.

In excellent condition.
