Chartres and Bourges Cathedrals are home to two of France's finest collections of medieval stained glass. Chartres preserves one of the world's most complete ensembles of 12th- and 13th-century windows, while Bourges is renowned for its Gothic architecture and richly detailed biblical glass.
Produced by Nerville, this porcelain ashtray was part of a commemorative series celebrating France's great Gothic cathedrals and their celebrated stained-glass masterpieces.
