The piece … Read more This original mixed media painting was designed and created by American artist Stephen Charles De Santo, circa 1985. The piece is constructed directly on a heavy masonite board, featuring a central composition built with structural acrylic paste, fine aggregates, crackle mediums, and pigment. It features heavy-body Brutalist textures, deep relief fissures, and an organic architectural crust surrounded by an integrated, painted white masonite perimeter border. The large-scale composition is housed in its original two-inch thick black wood frame with rounded corners. The work retains the signature of the maker on the lower face along with the original artist business card affixed to the reverse side. Piece is in great condition. Minor finish wear/touch ups to frame. No cracks or structural issues - please see all photos and video. Monumental display ready piece.
