This lovely classic vintage green glazed Majolica rabbit dinnerware is made in Portugal by Bordallo Pinheiro. With a basket-weave pattern border, and pairs of bunnies munching on carrots around the edge, these bowls make beautiful spring and summer dinnerware, and lovely collectible pieces.
This is for a set of 4. The size is 7 1/4 inches wide and 1 7/8 inches tall. They are in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. They may have some craze marks on them, as shown in the photos.
Artist, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro, is associated with artistic ceramics. In 1884 Bordallo began his ceramics production at the Fábrica de Faianças in Caldas, revealing pieces of great technical, artistic and creative quality. His remarkable work with ceramics was awarded with the gold medal in international exhibitions in Madrid, Antwerp, Paris and the United States.
