Paul McCobb for Directional Miniature Cabinet, circa 1955
A finely crafted miniature cabinet designed by Paul McCobb for Directional, circa 1955. Executed in mahogany with brass hardware, this compact case piece embodies the clean lines, balanced proportions, and understated elegance that define McCobb's influential mid-century modern aesthetic.
The cabinet retains its original manufacturer's label, marked Directional Calvin Furniture Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan inside the top drawer. Thoughtfully scaled, it functions equally well as a jewelry cabinet, desk accessory, or decorative accent, showcasing the quality and attention to detail associated with Directional's production during the period.
A sophisticated and increasingly scarce example of Paul McCobb's work for Directional.
