Add a touch of refined coastal elegance to your space with this striking, authentic 1979 original watercolor painting by listed American artist and academic educator, Nancy Moore.
Captured during her early-career period mastering traditional water media, this magnificent seascape showcases an exceptional command of light, texture, and movement. The composition dynamic features turbulent, foamy ocean waves crashing violently against towering coastal rock formations under a soft sky dotted with soaring gulls. Executed with a confident hand, the piece beautifully balances the raw power of nature with the delicate, luminous transparency unique to high-quality watercolor painting.
About the Artist:
Originally hailing from Maryland, Nancy Moore formally studied the Old Masters' style before earning her B.A. in Art from the University of Maryland and her Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). A highly respected university and college-level art educator, her career has spanned decades teaching across Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Mississippi, where she currently maintains her active fine art studio in Oxford. While her modern portfolio has famously evolved into abstract mixed-media, her early-career traditional landscapes and seascapes remain highly coveted for their technical mastery and timeless aesthetic appeal.

The original watercolor on paper remains remarkably vibrant and beautifully preserved with no signs of fading, moisture exposure, waviness, or foxing. The paper is flat, and the colors are true to their original execution. The frame and double-matting are structurally sound and securely sealed. The sleek silver gallery frame exhibits minor, light surface wear and faint scuffs consistent with its vintage age and careful handling over the decades, which does not distract from the overall presentation. The glass is clean and free of chips or cracks. Ready to hang immediately. less
