The chess board is a fun pattern of screened dots in orange and chartreuse green set against white made out of plastic as well as the sculptural resin players. Materials are acrylic and resin. Crafted from injection of molded thermoplastic the chess players have a glossy finish and are both playful objects and now sculptural art pieces, The pawns are sculptural and elegant. The style is Y2K futurism/ modernism. This color way or variant is the rarest version of all the other 3 variants. They were made in a small edition run and it is now is more difficult to find in not only great condition but complete. Tres chic! and tres fun! Karim Rashid is an Canadian American designer of Egyptian origin. He was born in Cairo Egypt on September 18, 1980.
He set to conquer NYC in 1983 and then opened his own brand. He is continual designer of reinvention of tools, objects, glass, shops, restaurants and metro stations. He always amuses, surprises and creates and has established himself as the designer of the past 50 years. He is non stoppable. Creative and innovative and respected.
