A striking example of 19th-century French provincial craftsmanship, this authentic Cheese Armoire dates to circa 1860 and was sourced through Gaines McHale Antiques & Home of Baltimore. The piece retains all the hallmarks of genuine period construction: hand-sawn back panels with natural shrinkage gaps, aged interior pine shelving darkened with over a century of patina, and original turned barrel hinges at the door center. The two-door facade features gracefully scalloped chicken wire insets in the Louis XV provincial tradition, with bold stepped crown molding and tapered feet.
The warm honey pine exterior is in excellent presentable condition. Interior shelving shows authentic age-related wear. Minor splitting to lower back panel is consistent with natural wood movement over time and does not affect structural integrity.
