This is a true classic of Viennese Art Deco design, mostly created by Karl Hagenauer between the 1930s and 1950s. These figures were cast in brass, given a dark patina, and polished at the edges (such as the open beak and wings) to reveal the gold-colored metal underneath. Often, these designs with their wide-open beaks served as decorative miniatures, paperweights, or ashtrays. Hagenauer stamp in a circle. This piece has an attribution mark,
