This expressive and rare collector's sculpture is titled "Monti Man" (also charmingly known as "Macker" among collectors) and was designed in 2004 by the Swiss artist Guy Brantschen. The sculptural male figures in suits were produced in various limited-edition color combinations and are now considered highly sought-after objects of contemporary European post-pop art design.
The figure captivates with its bold, high-contrast color blocking: a vibrant orange jacket meets a striking striped tie and brown trousers, perfectly contrasted by the bright magenta plinth. with its casual pose—hands relaxed in pockets, gaze confidently forward, and dynamic lunge—the figure exudes an urban, postmodern elegance. Stylistically, the work bridges the gap between classic pop art and the familiar, anonymous everyday silhouettes of contemporary artists such as Stephan Balkenhol or Julian Opie.
Standing at an impressive 43 cm tall, the piece commands considerable attention and is ideally suited as a sculptural statement piece for sophisticated, eclectic mid-century or modern interiors.
The underside of the plinth documents the piece's authenticity with the artist's original, hand-engraved signature: "MONTI 2004 Smg Brantschen".
A subtle, distinctive detail is the artist's hand-painted white textured flecks on the legs and shoes, which stylistically underscore the urban street aesthetic of the man in the suit. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
