The carriage wheel of classical Japanese nobility. The ox-drawn carriage of the Tale of Genji — the world's first novel, the symbol of aristocratic refinement — turning here in heavy gold across lacquer-black silk. Against a deep lacquer-black silk ground — the colour of formal ceremony in the Japanese court — the genji-guruma turns in heavy metallic gold brocade, encircled by the imperial kiku chrysanthemum in burnt orange, vermilion, and pearl white. The black gives the composition its lineage. The gold gives it its turn. A pillow for ivory linen, cashmere, deep charcoal — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table. Seamless envelope closure. No metal touches the visible silk. Dimensions: 50 × 30 cm Construction: Seamless envelope closure Care: Dry clean or spot clean. Origin: Japanese ceremonial silk, designed and finished at the Renaras atelier, Netherlands. One silk. One story. One piece. Never repeated. Labeled by Maker See less
