The handles are what got me. Lathe-turned wood with double ball finials , top and bottom, connected by a turned waist and wrapped in rattan where they meet the basket. That’s furniture-grade craftsmanship on a basket. Someone put real intention into this piece and you can feel it when you hold it.

The slatted wood base is the second thing you notice; actual fitted wood slats, solid as the day it was made. The wicker body has a beautiful two-tone honey and tobacco patina that only comes with genuine age. And structurally? This thing is exceptional. The base doesn’t flex, the handles don’t budge, the wicker has no soft spots. This is not decorative-only. It works.

I wanted to do something with it. I still want to do something with it. But I don’t have a place for it, so it’s time to find someone who does.✨
