An impressive, hand crafted large scale mantel piece of tiger maple of early 21st century vintage (this is not an antique piece). This fireplace surround features architectural proportions that will enhance any fireplace area and truly make it the centerpiece of a room. With a dramatic overhanging shelf cornice that highlights the tiger maple to best effect, the architrave below is trimmed with a dentil moulding as well as a wonderful carved swag-and-bow element, bracketed on either side by an oval foliate carved detail; the firebox opening is framed with a gold leaf accented garland moulding and the pilasters themselves terminate in a substantial plinth base. Whether you are building a new house or renovating an existing one, you couldn't choose a better mantel to use or one that has more presence.
The dimensions are as follows: 73.5" wide overall x 61.25" high overall. The firebox opening is 48.5" wide x 35" high, The shelf is 9" deep.
This piece was purchased for our high-end interior design and furniture showroom in 2010. It was never sold and has never been used. Any surface scratches or imperfections are consistent with it being displayed in a high-end Design Showroom and of the hand crafted nature of this piece.
