The lamp features an unusually long stem rising from an ornamented circular base crafted in solid brass, partially clad in white enamelled metal. It is fitted with an integrated switch in the base and a bakelite lamp holder at the top. A conical pleated lampshade is included. The underside of the base bears the nk hallmark stamp. The renowned swedish department store nordiska kompaniet, nk, opened in stockholm in 1902. It played a significant role in introducing modern and innovative retail practices to sweden, bringing the concept of a department store to the city and offering a wide range of goods under one roof. The company had their workshops in nyköping, which were known for their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to quality. Nk often collaborated with renowned designers to create unique and innovative pieces.
