Royal Worcester, founded in 1751, is one of England's oldest and most celebrated porcelain manufacturers, and this piece exemplifies their finest traditional craftsmanship.
The Pattern:
Riviera is a gorgeously romantic design — a warm ivory ground adorned with continuous garlands of pink roses, blue forget-me-nots, yellow flowers, and lush green foliage, interspersed with decorative gilt urns and delicate scrollwork. Fine gold and rust-orange border lines frame the decoration on both the gravy boat and the generously sized oval underplate. The underplate features an additional central floral medallion — a lovely touch of extra detail. The overall effect is of a sun-drenched Mediterranean garden in full bloom.
