Tito Agnoli was born to an Italian family in Peru in 1931 and graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1949, where he met Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli. He subsequently collaborated with manufacturers including Pierantonio Bonacina, Arflex, Molteni, and Oluce, developing a body of work characterized by the disciplined use of natural materials within a modernist formal framework. His bamboo and rattan furniture for Bonacina established a formal language in which the structural logic of bent cane is made visually explicit rather than concealed—the round tables with spiral tops and flared bamboo legs are among his most recognizable expressions, documented in the 1963 Bonacina catalog. The table presented here bears no manufacturer's marking; it is attributable to Tito Agnoli based on its construction approach, proportions, and treatment of the spiral wicker top—all consistent with his documented production of the period.
The finish is natural, with no lacquer or paint applied; the surface has developed a warm amber patina consistent with six decades of interior use. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
