The eye is then drawn to the warm softness of the mahogany veneer, whose deep hue enhances the ovoid silhouette of the piece. The upper surface, delicately edged with a molded border, is darkened with a pink marble veined with white, whose luminous nuances lend a precious and refined touch. Below, a second, larger surface, also edged with a molded border, offers an elegant additional surface and is distinguished by its two side handles, emphasizing the convivial nature of this small parlor piece. The veneer, arranged in a butterfly pattern, changes tone depending on the light. The whole, a subtle balance between decorative richness and refined lines, perfectly embodies the graceful and refined spirit of the Louis XV style.
