They use a distinctive Tibetan knotting technique that creates a dense, durable, and plush pile with a characteristic ribbed appearance on the back.Unlike purely geometric rugs, pictorial examples feature narrative or figurative scenes. Common motifs include Buddhas, dragons (symbolizing power and good fortune), tigers (strength and protection), floral designs, clouds, lotuses, or symbolic Buddhist elements. These rugs often tell spiritual or cultural stories. Here , I am offering a very unusual one, with interesting motifs that each indicates something and of course a picture of spider, which usually come with dragon that makes it so unusual. It is in good condition for its age, low even flat pile from top to bottom. shows minor wear in a small area. Also, the gold ground makes it even more interesting. See less
