In the photo they are hanging spaced approximately 3 inches apart making it roughly 42x34, this can be adjusted to fit your space.

Layers of clear encaustic medium create a thick translucent surface which draws the viewer into the piece. In areas where the wax application is thickest there is a subtle depth to the wax. I use a torch to manipulate and fuse the wax this gives my surfaces a beautifully textured finish.

Encaustic (bees wax & damar resin), ink, gesso and oil on cradled 3/4 inch wood panels. The pieces are each numbered and number 9 is signed, dated and titled on the back. These hang easily with two push pins each, they do not have hanging wire as I have discovered they hang more flush against the wall without it. There are occasional stray yummy wax drips on the sides which are all painted light gray.

**I use a handful of different techniques in different pieces, this particular one is primarily painting techniques, whereas some others are primarily collage, some are a mix of both.  Encaustic (bee's wax and damar resin) is heated, and when molten can be used like any other paint (though quickly because as it cools it hardens on the brush).  It's then fused into the layer beneath, there are a number of ways to do this, I prefer to use a torch (which explains why you might find some burn marks in some of the ones with more paper inclusions, i love that, I don't try to avoid it as, for me, it's part of the beauty of the medium).  
Some of the Fayum mummy portraits are encaustic and have been around forever... It's quite archival and it isn't particularly fragile, but it can be damaged - it can be scratched and if you were to drop it, it would likely chip. ** See less
