Refined and sculptural, this striking set of wall sconces — informally referred to as “lancia” for their resemblance to a wall-mounted lance — was produced by stilux milano during the 1960s. Each fixture features a sharply tapered conical body crafted in cast brass with a beautiful warm patina, paired with a flattened opaline glass diffuser that emits a soft and atmospheric glow. The combination of geometric precision and understated elegance perfectly embodies the timeless sophistication of italian mid-century lighting design. The elongated silhouette creates a strong architectural presence while maintaining visual lightness. Whether installed individually, in pairs, or in larger compositions, these sconces offer remarkable versatility and can be mounted either vertically or horizontally depending on the requirements of the space. Particularly notable is the quality of the materials: the solid cast brass bodies possess a pleasing weight and depth, while the handblown opaline glass diffusers provide a warm, even illumination. Subtle variations in the natural aging of the brass contribute to the authentic vintage character of each piece. These sconces are in excellent vintage condition with minor signs of wear and patina consistent with age and use. The opaline glass shades are beautifully preserved. A large quantity is available, originating from an original warehouse stock discovered in northern italy, representing a rare opportunity to acquire a cohesive group of authentic stilux fixtures from a single source. The sconces have been professionally rewired and fitted with new e14 bulb sockets for european use. Wear consistent with age and use. this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
