The dining surface rests atop a set of sharply tapered mahogany legs that splay outward from the table’s frame. Beveled edges compliment the angular structure. With the leaves deployed, the table expands to a full length of 110 inches, accommodating 10 guests with ease.

Teak and rosewood pieces of this style were common among Scandinavian furnituremakers of the era. Mahogany draw leaf tables, on the other hand, are exceptionally rare. Even more uncommon was the use of exotic woods for the unseen structural components of the table. While Scandinavian producers tended to use inexpensive hardwoods like beech for the frame and leaf guides, Poisson’s rendition used solid mahogany.

The main tabletop is newly refinished and shows perfectly. The leaves, frame, and legs are in excellent condition with few signs of age. A rare and collectible piece of functional art that stands out from virtually every table we have seen in this category.
