This readicut rug from the 1970s is the result of a concept that seems quite unusual today: receiving a hand-painted canvas and the corresponding yarn, then creating your own rug stitch by stitch. A kind of diy before its time, somewhere between home craftsmanship and boldly stylish decor.
we love its vibrant hues—rust, caramel, deep black, incandescent yellow—and its almost hypnotic, fused floral pattern, typical of the most daring 1970s interiors. Its thickness is incredibly warm. It has an amazing presence on the floor. A room full of warmth, somewhere between an english cottage and the set of a ken russell film.
although fifty years old, the rug is in excellent condition. It has lost none of its color or thickness. A miracle for this warm, graphic, and truly unique room.
