Gianfranco Frattini, born in Padua, Italy in 1926, was an Italian architect and designer. He was one of the key figures in Italian post-war design.

Frattini graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1953 with a degree in architecture. He then worked in the studio of Gio Ponti before founding his own design studio in the mid-1950s. Frattini collaborated with renowned manufacturers, including Cassina, Artemide, Knoll, Bernini, and Acerbis. His designs are known for their elegant proportions and creative craftsmanship in woodworking. Among his most famous designs are the Kyoto Table (1974) and the Boalum Lamp (1970). The nesting tables offered here were designed by the designer in 1966.

Gianfranco Frattini was also a co-founder of the ADI, the Italian Association for Industrial Design (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale). He received numerous design awards, including the prestigious Compasso d’Oro. His work is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Smithsonian Design Museum, among others.
