Condition:

Positives: Strong color retention, no major tears, no large losses, calligraphy and seals remain sharp. No repairs, no tears.

Negatives: Moderate foxing throughout, age toning, some waviness in the paper.

Overall B− / Good antique condition

The warrior's face, robes, and sword are executed with considerable care. Several things confirm a hand-painted work: Brush-applied color transitions in the robes. Individual ink outlines that vary in thickness. Handwritten inscription rather than printed text. Seal impressions integrated naturally into the composition. Aging of the paper genuine rather than artificially distressed.

The seals, pigments, and paper suggest: Taishō to early Shōwa period (c. 1915–1945) with the strongest likelihood around 1920–1940.
