A substantial and visually commanding Arts and Crafts table lamp, comprising an antique copper and brass vase base attributed to … Read more A substantial and visually commanding Arts and Crafts table lamp, comprising an antique copper and brass vase base attributed to Stickley Brothers of Grand Rapids, Michigan, circa 1903, fitted with a handcrafted leaded glass dome shade.

The base is a converted functional vessel, such as a lidded milk churn or similar domestic form, retaining its original locking bail hardware on the body. Construction combines a hand-formed copper cylinder with applied brass appliqués in a stylized foliate and shield motif, secured with hand-set rivets throughout.

Three scrolled wrought iron handles with brass collars flank the body, and a beaded brass collar ring sits at the lamp conversion fitting. Natural verdigris patination is present at the appliqué joints and on the copper base floor, consistent with genuine age and original surface. No maker's mark is present on the base.

The 15-inch dome shade is constructed of caramel and cream slag glass panels in a geometric grid pattern, centered on a decorative band of amber textured glass with white oval jewel accents in a repeating foliate motif. The shade is signed and dated "RPR '87" at the rim, indicating the work of an individual craftsman in 1987; it is not represented as a period shade. The combination presents cohesively in both the Arts and Crafts aesthetic and in warm amber tones when lit.

The lamp features a dual-socket pull-chain cluster with period appropriate brass hardware and appears to have been rewired. Finial and finial screw included. Functioning as photographed.

Overall good condition consistent with age. Verdigris patination to copper base floor and appliqué joints. Minor surface wear to brass collar and handle hardware throughout. No cracked or replaced glass panels observed.
