A substantial and beautifully crafted five-arm candelabra in hand-hammered copper, made in Mexico and stamped "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" — the country of origin mark used by Mexican copper artisans on export-quality pieces from the mid-20th century golden age of Mexican folk craft.
The form is classic in the tradition of Santa Clara del Cobre, the Michoacán village that has been Mexico's copper-working capital for centuries — a broad hammered base, turned central column, gracefully curved arms, and wide drip-catch bobeches, all in warm hand-worked copper that has developed a rich reddish-brown patina with age. The hammering is confident and even, consistent with skilled workshop production rather than tourist-grade craft.
A piece like this sits equally well on a rustic farmhouse dining table, a moody maximalist sideboard, or a Spanish Colonial interior. Functional, substantial, and genuinely old — not a reproduction.
