The relief pattern … Read more This is an elegant 19th century French jardiniere (planter), made of brass with finely detailed repousse' details. The relief pattern shows a classical double handled urn separated by architectural columns and foliage. The top and bottom rims feature stylized twisted rope borders. The planter sits on four cast-brass feet with scroll detailing. This jardiniere comes with its original metal liner, which is highly valued because many so often have lost their liners. The liner shows authentic signs of age such as oxidation and a few small holes, which authenticate its historical use as a planter. The brass is in good condition but does show some oxidation here and there.
