The set comprises a large oval serving platter, a covered sugar bowl, and a creamer. Each piece is hand-decorated with an exotic bird in reserve — including the Barbu de Maynas on the platter and the Cardinal huppé de Virginie (Northern Cardinal) — set against the pattern’s signature deep claret-red band with fine black neoclassical scrollwork, burnished gold edging, and gilded handles.

The décor reproduces an original 1793 design after Buffon’s Histoire Naturelle, drawn from the collection of the Musée de Buffon in Montbard. The Manufacture Royale, founded in 1737 under royal patronage, continues to produce these historic patterns today to the strictest standards. All pieces fully marked on the reverse.
