These two olive jar's have the kind of presence that stops a room cold. The classic baluster form, lug handles, and flared rim are exactly as they would have been when these jars were put to work storing olive oil or wine, likely centuries ago.
They come from the Impruneta region of Tuscany, long considered the gold standard for terracotta production. That region's dense, frost-resistant clay has been prized since the Renaissance, and the craftsmanship here reflects that tradition.
The weathered patina, traces of moss, and organic growth are all genuine, earned from years outdoors. The wear adds to the story rather than taking anything away.
Sold as a pair, they anchor a doorway, courtyard, or interior with quiet, sculptural confidence.

This example dates to around 1890 and carries the full weight of that tradition, hand-formed, thick-walled, and built with the kind of unhurried craft that was simply how things were made. The warm, earthy terracotta has developed a beautiful aged surface over more than a century of life, with natural variation in the clay and honest patina that no modern reproduction can replicate. The generous proportions give it a presence that works as a standalone statement piece as much as anything else. On a covered porch, in an entryway, beside a fireplace, or anchoring a garden courtyard, it brings a grounded, ancient warmth that stops people mid-step. One of a kind. Sold as a pair, they anchor a doorway, courtyard, or interior with quiet, sculptural confidence. less
