The piece has … Read more Here is a beautiful antique oil painting of a grey hunter by Alfred Grenfell Haigh (British, 1870-1963). The piece has a simple, contemporary background and is finished in a lovely lemon gilt frame. This handsome hunter would be a wonderful addition to a great room, dining room, or foyer entry of an equestrian-inspired home.

· Antique condition: Visible stretcher marks, particularly to the top of the canvas; Small bulging area at the bottom of canvas from pressure of stretcher; Craquelure throughout; Small areas of paint loss on the horse's stifle, chest and face; Small paint drip on horse’s hindquarter; General surface dirt from age; Lemon gilt frame has some discoloration, distressing and minor gesso losses from age. This piece has a beautiful, aged patina in its existing condition; however, it could gain additional richness to coloring and appearance if the buyer chooses to pursue professional restoration and cleaning.
