Glossy orange plastic spherical diffuser with a Space Age design. Scandinavian production from the 1960s.
This ceiling lamp recalls the "Pallade" model, designed in 1968 by Studio Tetrarch for Artemide at the height of the Space Age movement. The collective, composed of Adelaide Bonati, Silvio Bonatti, Enrico De Munari, and Carla Federspiel, developed a research oriented toward essential geometric forms, synthetic materials, and lighting experimentation, central themes of radical Italian design of the period. The term Space Age refers to the futurist language born during the space race, characterized by spherical volumes, sculptural surfaces, and intense colors. The compact silhouette and saturated orange color perfectly reflect this aesthetic. The glossy plastic body diffuses a soft, uniform light, maintaining a strong sculptural presence even when the lamp is off. Good condition. May show signs of aging.
