Brass pendant lamp with textile fringes, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Markaryd in the 1960s.
Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Markaryd in the 1960s, this pendant lamp reflects the refined approach of Scandinavian lighting design of the period. Jakobsson, one of the most important Swedish designers of the time, developed a research focused on soft, glare-free light, a hallmark of Markaryd production. The brass structure features a geometric perforated edge embellished with long textile fringes, designed to diffuse the light in a warm and atmospheric way. The white lacquered interior promotes more uniform light reflection, enhancing the soft quality of the illumination. The original mark on the structure confirms its vintage production and attribution to the Swedish manufacturer.
