A striking pair of carved female figures from Tanzania, dating to the 1940s–1950s.
Finely sculpted with delicate facial features, both figures are shown in a kneeling, ceremonial posture. One is distinguished by an elaborate hairstyle and holds a small vessel, while the other carries a miniature beaded bag. Twisted leather adornments at the neck and waist.
Rich in character and presence, these sculptures offer a beautiful blend of craftsmanship and cultural expression, making them compelling decorative objects as well as collectible works.
