An iconic example of Italian radical design, the Soriana sofa was designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina in 1969 and received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1970. Celebrated for its sculptural silhouette and innovative construction, the design eliminates traditional internal structure in favor of generous cushioning gathered by a polished chrome frame.
This vintage example features black upholstery with deep tufting and the signature external chrome clamps that define the model. Its low profile, organic curves, and enveloping comfort make it one of the most recognizable and collectible Italian sofas of the 20th century.
