The chair retains its original upholstered shell, black edge trim, and H-base, while showcasing the richly textured fiberglass construction that has made early shell chairs increasingly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts. The warm orange-red upholstery is particularly representative of the late Mid-Century era and contributes significant decorative presence.

Produced during the period when Summit manufactured fiberglass shells for commercial furniture applications, this example retains both the molded Herman Miller identification and Summit manufacturing stamp within the shell. Some glides are missing and one appears to have been previously repaired. Tape residue remains present on one leg. Base exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
