The … Read more An antique oil painting on canvas with a period gilded wooden frame, depicting a 17th-century still life with flowers. The composition extends vertically from a central goblet-shaped vase with a decorated stem resting on a surface. The flowers are arranged in a geometric pyramid or radial pattern typical of Baroque still lifes, designed to fill almost the entire central space. The background is completely dark, a technical choice derived from Caravaggism that serves to nullify the surrounding space and bring out the vivid colors of the petals.
