The curved frame, with its scrollwork and acanthus motifs, stands in formal contrast to the flat, understated tabletop; the uniform colour scheme unites the two materials. Design context The frame is designed as an openwork ornamental panel: scrollwork, acanthus leaf motifs and a crown-like central element structure the front. The principle of the transparent, ornamentally broken-up surface is formally related to historical console tables and wrought ironwork – without directly referencing them. The openwork frame creates no sense of heaviness; the table takes up little space in the room. The wooden top with bevelled front edges provides a calm, flat finish in contrast to the ornamented frame. The uniform chalk-white finish, with intentionally exposed ageing patina, allows the wood and metal to blend together visually.

Design:
The tabletop is flat and rectangular in shape; the front edges are geometrically bevelled. The frame transitions into an openwork, curvilinear ornamental structure of scrollwork and plant motifs – the transition between the top and the frame is achieved through a rounded profile. The legs are designed in a curved cabriole shape with scroll ends and merge organically into the frame. A lower crossbar with scrollwork connects the legs and completes the frame at the bottom. The contrast between the smooth, matt wooden top and the textured, relief-like metal surface is kept in check by the uniform colour scheme. Function: Free-standing console table, suitable for placement against a wall or in the centre of a room.
