This small Chameleon Ware urn vase by George Clews & Co was produced in Staffordshire, England during the 1930s and presents one of the manufacturer's most recognizable decorative ceramic finishes. Executed in earthenware, the vase is finished in a luminous cobalt blue matte glaze with softly mottled black and violet tonal variation. Its restrained urn form features a rounded body with a shallow neck and gently rolled lip, creating a balanced silhouette characteristic of Art Deco ceramic design. The rich cobalt surface carries the atmospheric quality associated with George Clews' Chameleon Ware range, where subtle tonal shifts and layered glazes were developed to create depth and movement across the surface. Produced in Staffordshire, Chameleon Ware became one of the company's most collected and enduring ceramic ranges, valued for its experimental glazes and strong decorative presence. Stamped to the underside with the Clews / Chameleon Ware insignia.
