Splendid three-drawer chest of drawers from the Lombardy region.

The piece combines geometric rigor and rich inlay decoration, maintaining harmonious proportions and exceptional visual elegance.
Construction and Decorative Details

Structure and Front: The front is divided into three drawers: a narrower upper drawer beneath the top, decorated with a band of vegetal scrolls and continuous geometric motifs, and two larger lower drawers, visually united by a majestic central oval reserve.

Inlays: At the center of the front: An oval inlaid medallion depicting a reclining classical allegorical figure, crafted from fine woods and finely nuanced.

Upstairs: A large central oval reserve enclosing a rich collection of period weapons (quiver, arrows, drum, and laurel branches), surrounded by a beautiful herringbone/quadripartite wood veneer arrangement.

Side and flanks: The flanks echo the refined ornamentation of the front, featuring a large central circular rosette enclosed within geometric frames and foliage motifs at the corners. The corners are enriched with bell-shaped inlays and geometric motifs typical of the period.

Supports: The piece is supported by four elegant truncated pyramid feet (the classic neoclassical stiletto feet), also fully filleted and inlaid along the edges.

Woods Used: Walnut, walnut burl, fruitwood fillets to create the color contrasts of the inlays.

Condition: Excellent overall condition. The piece has undergone a conservative restoration that enhanced its shine with spirit and shellac polishing.
