A charming and evocative oil on canvas painting from the first half of the 20th century (early 20th century), depicting a vast and lyrical hilly landscape captured in the warm, golden light of twilight.

The work is distinguished by a broad composition and great classical balance: a dirt road on the left draws the viewer's gaze toward the background, skirting a calm body of water in the foreground on the right, reflecting the treetops and the hues of the sky. In the background, a small rural village with a pointed bell tower can be glimpsed, immersed in the blue evening mist, while the horizon lights up with vibrant orange and yellow hues.
Stylistic and Pictorial Details

Chromatism: Excellent atmospheric rendering based on the contrast between the warm tones of the sunset (orange, ochre, gold) and the cool tones of the shadowed vegetation and distant hills (deep greens, browns, and blue-violet).

Media: Original oil on canvas. The reverse shows the original canvas mounted on a sturdy contemporary wooden frame with dart joints (keys), in excellent structural condition, with no obvious sagging.

Condition: The paint layer appears healthy, with a natural patina that adds depth to the colors and a very subtle and charming period "crackling" that guarantees its authenticity. There are no invasive restorations or paint loss.

Frame: The painting is embellished with a striking and elegant contemporary black lacquered wooden frame, enhanced by an internal profile richly carved with geometric/rib motifs, which masterfully encloses and enhances the luminosity of the canvas.
