A very well made and very smart antique Georgian style open bookcase. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1950’s.
It is of superb quality, it is a very useful and fairly narrow size, that still offers lots of storage space. The shelves sit on brass supports and are all removable / adjustable. This sits on a plinth base, the front edges are beautifully carved with a gun barrel design, this has a lovely overhanging cornice at the top with an arched central frieze.
We have had this recently revived and re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age with just some incredibly minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there. The wood has a gorgeous overall colour tone and patina.
