Exquisite cut Art Nouveau glass carafe with silver mount: Clear glass carafe with a conical body, featuring an all-round cut … Read more Exquisite cut Art Nouveau glass carafe with silver mount: Clear glass carafe with a conical body, featuring an all-round cut decoration with eight upward-sweeping rays, curved tips and droplets embedded within, extending halfway up the side; around the upper opening, a silver mount with all-round relief decoration, which incorporates the droplet loops, filled with volutes and leaf-shaped elements; beak-shaped, covered spout with a round, slightly domed hinged lid featuring a beaded band and a curved, moulded thumb rest. Made circa 1900 Dimensions: Height: 29,5 cm / 11.61 in Width: 16,5 cm / 6.49 in Depth: 10,5 cm / 4.13 in Hallmarks: - Crescent + Crown - German official hallmark from 1888 - 800 - fineness - Goblet/Stemmed glass - for Koch & Bergfeld Bremen, Germany Founded in 1856 by Gottfried Koch and his brother-in-law Ludwig Bergfeld, in the middle of the 19th century conversion from individual to mechanical series production with stock management, sales from catalogues, 1989 sale of the family business to Villeroy & Boch, outsourcing of departments and resale, cutlery department still exists as Koch & Bergfeld Besteckmanufaktur GmbH.
