Art Nouveau glass carafe with exquisite silver mount: Glass carafe made of conical clear glass on a round base, with … Read more Art Nouveau glass carafe with exquisite silver mount: Glass carafe made of conical clear glass on a round base, with a spout-shaped indentation below the upper rim; a matching smooth silver mount with a hinged lid and a raised olive-shaped thumb rest, elegantly curved handle connected to the base band at a height of approximately one quarter of the carafe, featuring embossed relief decoration combining geometric structures and floral-organic elements – heart motif border – in the upper half, a continuous row of vertically arranged stylised heart elements with pearl-like dots; in the lower section, small, embossed, round medallions with a stylised inverted lily motif, set within curved, tapering fields; the upper edge of the silver setting is gently undulating, emphasising the characteristic fluid movement of Art Nouveau. Made circa 1900
