Created in blin's trademark misty glaze, this delightful … Read more Mid-century ceramic decorative pitcher / vase by jacques blin (circa 19 60s). Created in blin's trademark misty glaze, this delightful vessel is incised with fantastical warriors presented in a linear, hieroglyphic style. The patchy blue is one of blin's iconic colours. The ceramic is in good overall condition. Signed on the underside, 'j. Blin'. A previous owner seems to have also lightly incised '1966' on the underside. About the artist : jacques blin (1920-1995) who was an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and whimsical abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "j. Blin".
