Hand knotted in wool, a vintage 4x7 Persian Tabriz rug originating circa 1970-1980 - making its way to our reputed Antique & Vintage collection.
On the Design:
The rug is clearly influenced by Heriz Serapi rugs since they’re in the same region as Tabriz and they’ve been known to borrow principles. Connoisseurs will note finely detailed medallions with all over patterns around, architectural sensibilities, the rich red and blue underscoring beige-brown that Heriz-Serapi rugs favor.
A rich, finely detailed piece - exemplary of North Persian rug design and its master weaves.
