Federal mirrors of this period were often designed as important decorative accents, bringing light and refinement into parlors, entryways, and bedrooms. This example has a particularly striking presence with its richly figured tiger maple frame, classical architectural form, and original two-panel design.

The frame showcases exceptional tiger maple with a warm, glowing patina and dramatic grain pattern throughout. The design features bold molded cornices, turned column supports, and a wonderful combination of the original looking glass below with the original reverse-painted glass tablet above.
