Judging from the … Read more This is a rare pair of Antique Chinese Heavy, Natural Jadeite Jade Elephants with their Custom Stands. Judging from the elaborate, hand carved lotus petal stands, these were created in the 1920’s, Republic Era. Elephants are popular in Chinese lore because they add lucky feng shui, symbolizing wisdom, protection, and prosperity. This pair is in Excellent condition, but one of the elephants has a repaired trunk. They are very heavy, weighing over 5 lbs each and the stands weigh over 1 lb each as well. They are apx 7.5” tall x 9” wide x 3.5” deep when set on their stands. One has a $9000 tag on the bottom and the other has a $10,000 tag. See less
