A striking pair of Statement Pieces. Vintage high-relief wall plaques depicting romantic classical figures in theatrical drapery and landscape settings. Executed in sculptural plaster composition within gilt oval frames, the plaques possess wonderful depth, shadowing and neoclassical character.
Likely produced by Alexander Backer Co. of New York, circa 1950s, these decorative companion plaques work beautifully in Traditional, Hollywood Regency, European, Grandmillennial or collected interiors.
