This epic alabaster lamp is just STUNNING! It is made in such an impressive scale and the weight is substantial! Carved alabaster grapes top an alabaster plinth, giving this midcentury piece a very artistic and sculptural presence.
It has two bulbs on pull chains and it is in working order with original wiring and sockets. There are some small chips and scuffs as one would expect from older pieces like this, and the grapes have been varnished so there is a finish on them to give them that rich golden color. there are irregularities to that finish as shown.
This design is attributed to Freddy Rensonnet, but there is no label or indication of origin other than the carving to the underside on the bast that indicates "Italy."
27 1/2" tall to top of finial. 6" at the widest on the grape cluster.
