1997 Annalee brown felt buffalo with black wool fleece mane and hand painted face. Annalee dolls were created in New Hampshire by Barabra 'Annalee' Thorndike. She started her business from an old chicken coop in the 1950's with inspiration from her childhood hobby of making dolls during the Depression. Collectors claim that her dolls are imbued with a special magic and indeed her unique posable creations are loaded with a whimsical personality. Honestly, I sometimes think her dolls are creepy but I love this beefy buffalo. He is pure Americana and might be appropriately considered as folk art. Tagged 'Annalee' and dated 1997.
Good vintage condition.
Measures 14" long, including tail, x 8" tall x 5" deep.
